Alaska

Daryl and i celebrated our engagement by cycling up north for a couple weeks. We took a bus from Seattle to Bellingham, WA (2 hours), then a ferry up to Skagway, AK (3 days). We then cycled over White Pass to Whitehorse, YK (181 km of riding) and caught a bus up to Tok, AK (8 hours). From there we rode down to Anchorage (550 km of riding) and spent a couple days enjoying the urban life. Some useful tidbits for future reference: we used exactly one large (470 g) campinggaz canister during the 2 week trip. Costs were $1900 (transport) + $450 (lodging) + $1000 (food) = $3350 total, or about $1700 per person.
