Neutrino bremsstrahlung rates for Neutron stars

We present emission rates for neutrino bremsstrahlung in neutron-neutron scattering, at densities relevant to the interior of neutron stars. Starting with a a model-independent non-relativistic nucleon-nucleon potential, we include spin-orbit, tensor and novel medium-induced effective interactions on the Fermi surface. We find that particle-hole screening effects reduce the bremsstrahlung emissivity as compared to the one-boson-exchange (OBE) model, and discuss consequences for neutron star cooling taking superfluidity into account.
