Informal Pizza Seminar(Generalising the) cosmology of codimension-two braneworldsJeremie VinetMcGillAs early as 1983, Rubakov and Shaposhnikov realised that models with two extra dimensions might provide a new way of thinking about the cosmological constant problem. Recently, interest in this idea has been revived in the guise of codimension-two braneworlds, where the relation between the 3-brane tension and the perceived 4-d cosmological constant is non-standard.In this talk, I will present the results of work done on this topic by Jim Cline, Julie Descheneau, Massimo Giovannini and myself in hep-th/0304147. I will then discuss the challenges we face when attempting to put more general types of matter on the 3-brane, as well as some possible solutions. Time permitting, I will present some preliminary results of work in progress on these issues.
