Tunneling and Spontaneous Interlayer Phase Coherence
in 3, 2, and 1 Dimensions

Recent technological progress has made it possible to perform tunneling spectroscopy experiments on double-layer two-dimensional electron gases. Strong coulomb correlations lead to several different remarkable phenomena including an analog of the Josephson effect.
