Astroparticle SeminarDark Cosmology with Heavenly LensesJoachim Harnois-DerapsMcGill UniversityThe deflection of light by massive cosmological structures serves as a fantastic probe of the dark sector of our Universe. With the recent data release by the Canada-France-Hawaii-Telescope Lensing group, the science of weak lensing has shown its potential to pin down many properties of the dark matter and its connection with the ‘normal’ matter. In this talk, I will review how weak lensing science is done in practice, how it combines with other cosmological probes, and I will discuss some of the recent outbreaks.
