HEP Theory Journal ClubMatrix duality in twistor spaceFrank CoronadoMcGillThe study of loop integrands in N=4 SYM has unveiled new hidden symmetries of this theory. These are Born-level correlators in the self-dual sector of N = 4 SYM. After integrating over k of the internal spacetime points the result is the k-th loop order of the correlation function of the remaining n-k operators. Unlike the integrated version, the integrands are simple rational functions which manifest the same or more hidden symmetries. Their study has provided a proof of the correlator/amplitude duality at the origin of the moduli space of N=4. We now consider the loop integrands for correlators of “master” operators. These are determinant operators which serve as generating functions of all single-trace half-BPS operators. Working in twistor space and using matrix duality we are able to find a reformulation of the integrands in terms of a zero-dimensional matrix model. This dual model manifests a 10D structure that combines spacetime and R-charge symmetries. This is already amenable to consider a 10D null limit, which we conjecture gives the massive scattering amplitudes in the Coulomb branch of N = 4.
