New physics from Flavor experiments: Opportunities and Challenges

Alakabha Datta

University of Mississippi

The discovery of the higgs boson completes the standard model (SM) of particle physics. In the SM the higgs mass is sensitive to short distance physics and there are flavor puzzles suggesting there must be physics beyond the SM. I will discuss how flavor experiments can probe this new physics and the challenges involved in extracting the new physics signals.
