Massive gravity and the Galileon

Claudia de Rham

Université de Genève

Starting from the Fierz-Pauli theory of massive gravity, I will present a generalization which remains ghost-free in the decoupling limit, while naturally generating the Galileon interactions for the helicity-0 mode. I will then discuss its behavior beyond the decoupling limit and comment on the manifestation of the Boulware-Deser ghost, before moving onto the implications for cosmology, as much for late-time acceleration than for inflation.
