These are called quiver gauge theories because they can be represented by a quiver diagram along with a superpotential. Assuming some quiver gauge theory on the worldvolume of D3/M2 branes, one can obtain the geometrical data of the CY-3/CY-4. This well defined procedure is called the Forward Algorithm. The reverse procedure, i.e., using the given geometrical data of the CY, how to find the gauge theory, is called the Inverse algorithm. We will discuss these procedures, along with certain subtleties in Inverse algorithm in this talk.
