Warped brane inflation and cosmic string tension

In this talk I review some aspects of brane inflation and present some of my recent works on this subject. The particular model of interest is the brane inflation in a warped deformed conifold. The spectrum of cosmic strings produced at the end of brane inflation are discussed.
