Measurement of a CKM matrix element Vub

Kim Hojeong

McGill University

The Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix will be reviewed briefly. Measurement of the CKM matrix elements are an important test of the Standard Model. One of the least constrained elements is Vub; b quark to u quark transitions. A new method of measuring Vub with inclusive B-meson decays using the BaBar detector will be described. This method needs more tuning with systematic errors but has good potential to contribute to the constraining of Vub.
