Special Pizza SeminarSome Hidden and Overlooked Structures at Future Null Infinity in Maxwell, GR and Einstein-Maxwell TheoryTed NewmanUniversity of PittsburghThe present work is concerned with the properties and behavior of both the gravitational field and the Maxwell field in the neighborhood of future null infinity. It is well know that certain source properties, as for example the total charge, electric and magnetic multipoles for Maxwell theory and the mass and linear momentum for GR, can be seen or read off at infinity. It is the purpose of the present work to show that other physical source properties that have been hidden can be also be found. In particular, for Einstein-Maxwell theory, detailed equations of motion for the center of mass and charge can be determined at infinity. These equations contain energy-momentum loss as well as the classical radiation reaction terms with no model building involved.
