Informal Pizza SeminarOrientiholes: Black hole technology applied to flux compactificationsMegha PadiHarvardType IIB flux compactifications with orientifold planes and D-branes are good candidates for model-building. We use T-duality to map these flux vacua into novel multicentered black hole states which we call “orientiholes”. Several characteristics of the flux vacua can be described in terms of simple, physical properties of the orientiholes, like their intrinsic angular momentum and split attractor flow. We propose that the IIB orientifold landscape can be systematically analyzed by studying the orientihole picture.
