Seminar in Hadronic Physics
From nuclei to neutron stars via microscopic mass models
John Michael Pearson
Département de physique Université de
Montréal
After a brief discussion of the relevance of nuclear mass models to neutron
stars, I will describe the Brussels-Montreal nuclear mass models, which are
based on the Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov method. I will then show how these models,
along with their underlying interactions, make possible a unified treatment of
all the different regions of neutron stars.
