Several modules of the ATLAS electromagnetic calorimeter have been tested with a 245 GeV electrons beam at CERN in 2001 and 2002. I will introduce the calibration of the electromagnetic calorimeter and the computation of optimal filtering coefficients. This method is used to reconstruct cell energy while minimizing electronic noise and allows to extract the relative scale of physics over calibration. Gauge mediated SUSY breaking models predict the existence of long lived neutralinos. Non pointing photons are typical signatures of these events. I will present the performances of the electromagnetic calorimeter with respect to non pointing photons. A systematic study with a detailed simulation of the ATLAS detector was performed to determine the electromagnetic calorimeter angular resolution for such photons. Results were used to parametrize the detector response and to reconstruct SUSY events from this model with a fast simulation of the ATLAS detector.
