RQMP (CPM) SeminarDynamic electron interactions in quantum materials probed via TR-ARPES and RIXFabio BoschiniINRSDuring this talk, I will focus on two different experimental techniques, namely time- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (TR-ARPES) and resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS) and discuss how both of them can access dynamic electron correlations in quantum materials. In the first half, I will discuss recent advances and developments at the Advanced Laser Light Source (ALLS) laboratory, INRS-EMT, where we are commissioning a new TR-ARPES endstation with intense long-wavelength pump capabilities. I will showcase the performances of this novel TR-ARPES system by discussing preliminary results on Bi2Te3 topological insulator. In particular, I will offer a careful analysis of the transient evolution of the spectral weight that has been recently assigned to the emergence of a topological exciton [1]. In the second part of the talk, I will discuss recent RIXS results on Bi2212 cuprate superconductor where, by tracking the softening of the RIXS-measured bond stretching phonon, we reveal dynamic charge correlations over the whole qx-qy momentum space at energies below ~70 meV [2].
